I was an external member of the COVID-SHINE project, jointly coordinated by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems. My contribution was to bridge work on COVID-19 data with the analysis of social determinants of health.

COVID-SHINE was funded by the La Caixa Foundation. Its goal: understand the spatio-temporal social determinants of health to improve agent-based modelling of recurrent COVID-19 outbreaks — (1) sharpening predictions of outbreak dynamics by incorporating new knowledge on social determinants of health, and (2) building an integrated systems framework to inform policies that reduce health inequalities.
